Watch any variety show from the era and you'll see hammy, stupid and politically incorrect crapola like this. Not particularly funny and loaded with cliches,

but kind of a fascinating look at some gutbucket 50s "entertainment." It's easy to imagine these two guys hamming it up in mob-owned Vegas.

Petrillo were a poor man's Martin & Lewis. (Very poor.) Lewis was grating enough, but Petrillo is unbearable. And Mitchell is no Dean Martin (he sounds like Tony Curtis). Huntz Hall visited Lugosi on the set and asked what he thought of Mitchell & Petrillo. Lugosi answered: "They're scum".

funny scenes were sparse. I have a sense of humor and I laughed only twice. If you want to see two real comics, a jungle princess and a gorilla, 'The Road To Bali' is a heck of a lot better.
